I first met Stephanie & Ryan a little over a year ago when Ryan played a big part in helping to get my husband’s business off the ground. I don’t remember what it was that Stephanie and I first did together, but we instantly clicked and have been such close friends since then!
I was so excited that they loved my work enough to want me to be their wedding photographer for their Dairy Barn Wedding. I always love when I get the chance to shoot sessions or weddings for friends because I know I will work my butt off to give them an unforgettable experience. We’ve talked so much about this day that it was so exciting to see it all come together! They incorporated so many personal things into their wedding day, from the vendors to the food from their hometowns, and engagement photos from Charleston (you can see their amazing engagement photos here!).
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings for friends is that there is that extra little bit of trust that can make a huge difference. In this case, we were getting ready to photograph the toasts and the lighting outside was absolutely PERFECT. I knew I had to ask Stephanie if she would let us sneak them outside for a few minutes before the toasts and she completely trusted us to do that. I can’t tell you how glad I am for that, because we got the most spectacular shots of the entire day! If we had waited until after the toasts, the sun would have already been behind the trees and we would have lost that golden light.
I am so happy for these two amazing people to have finally tied the knot! Their marriage may have started with a canceled honeymoon cruise (thanks, Irma) but it instead allowed them to be spontaneous and create new memories in San Francisco and Napa Valley, and this is what marriage is all about.
Thank you to these vendors for helping to make their wedding a success!
