I absolutely love it when I get the chance to be a Charleston engagement photographer. When I was headed that way for a bridal event, I knew it would be the perfect time to bring Stephanie and Ryan along for their engagement session since it’s where they got engaged! I’ve only known them for less than a year now, but they’ve become some of our closest friends. Stephanie and I started the hunt for an Airbnb in the area and came across the most adorable guest house near the plantations where we were greeted with fresh homemade bread and eggs from their chickens! It was basically my dream in a nutshell. Haha. Here are just a few photos of what we walked into:
The fresh eggs and bread were every bit as amazing as they look! I’m also kind of obsessed with these beds. It feels like sleeping on a hammock!
For Stephanie and Ryan’s engagement session, we had a super adorable retro look planned but also wanted to get some “normal” photos. We started the day out at the Magnolia Plantation walking through the gardens and beautiful Spanish moss. From there, we headed downtown to some of Charleston’s best spots. Stephanie got an amazing retro makeover from the sweet ladies at the Gibson Salon. We made sure to get some photos in Washington Square Park, where Ryan proposed to Stephanie last summer. The two of them looked absolutely adorable from head to toe. Between Stephanie’s bright red shoes and vintage 1960s teal coat, and Ryan’s suspenders and slicked back hair, they fit right in with the charm of Charleston’s cobblestone streets!
