Tatiana & Evan: Big Chill Charlotte Wedding

When I first met Tatiana & Evan, I was beyond excited when they shared with me that they were getting married at the Big Chill in Charlotte. Not only am I familiar with the venue because my husband’s family owns it, but it was also the place where I shot my first wedding. To say the least, it holds a special place in my heart! For their engagement session, we headed out to NoDa for some epic fall shots. It became clear to me that these two had a very special connection. They felt at ease in each other’s arms, and it was really a joy to photograph.
In the days before their wedding, Charlotte was experiencing some tough times with protests that turned into riots. Everyone in the city was feeling the pain. I can’t imagine what must have been going through Tatiana & Evan’s minds as they waited and watched, wondering if they would have to cancel their wedding. Thankfully, the protests turned peaceful and although a lot of damage was sustained, the wedding went on as planned.
It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day with a lovely ceremony and fun-filled reception at the Big Chill! One of my favorite moments of the day was during their first look in Fourth Ward. I am such a sucker for first looks, especially when they are in such adorable places! Evan’s reaction to his beautiful bride was just priceless. Then, during the reception, Tatiana surprised Evan by singing his favorite song to him! It was such a sweet moment.

All I can say is wow. I can’t stop looking at the photos they are absolutely stunning. My dad was a photographer and as a child I tagged along on many weddings so I appreciate your craft.
