I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our 2017 wedding season than with Brandi & Martin’s Piper Glen Wedding. These two are such a sweet couple and their wedding was every bit as beautiful as I expected it would be! One of my absolute favorite moments was staying behind at the end of the night to photograph the two of them sharing a final dance in their empty reception room. It was such a special moment to witness. Brandi quite honestly took my breath away when I saw her. Just look at that dress! I seriously get so lucky with how perfect all my couples are. Thank you for helping us close out the 2017 wedding season (and the final wedding before our baby girl arrives!) with such a beautiful celebration!
We met through my cousin and mutual friends Martin went to high school with a little over four years ago. I met Martin for the first time about 3 weeks before his dad passed away after battling ALS for 4-5 years. I felt like my purpose at that time in life was to be there for Martin as he experienced the most difficult time of his life to date. That event pulled us very close very fast and I never looked back.
We had just gotten in the security line at the airport, the ring secured safely in my backpack, when my mind started to wander. What if my bag gets searched, what if my surprise is ruined before we even get on the plane, how am I going to keep her from finding the ring on accident? All that worrying was for nothing, as we make it through security with no issues and board our flight heading to Park City UT for a ski trip. Skiing is one of Brandi’s favorite activities, which is why it seemed like the perfect opportunity to head out west and drop down on one knee.
I booked an excursion to go on snowshoe tour, with just Brandi, myself, and a guide. It was a moonlit tour up one side of the mountain overlooking Deer Valley. The plan was to snowshoe up one mountain to the ridge overlooking hundreds of lit up trees. It was the middle of December so the whole resort was lit up like a Christmas spectacle. We were standing on the ridge when the guide said he needed to scout ahead and would be right back. During his quick disappearance, i grabbed the hands of the woman i loved, told her how much she meant to me, reached into my pocket for the ring, dropped down on one knee and asked the question I had been so eager to ask.
