I have always wanted to do a Charlotte wedding photography shoot in the snow, but am never quite sure what the weather will do in Charlotte. Since it has been so warm the majority of the winter, I didn’t know if I would get another chance so even though it was literally the day before the snowstorm, I started scrambling to put some things together! This was the ultimate last minute shoot for me.
Originally, I posted in a local Facebook group to see if any real brides wanted to do their bridal shoot with me that day, but I also noticed that Erin Foley of RCB Fashion had commented on it saying that she had a bunch of dresses at her shop if I wanted to borrow one. I was absolutely FLOORED by her stunning dresses! She even gave me this jaw dropping gown that she made in her down time that hadn’t been shot before. The dress couldn’t have been more perfect!
I asked a friend of mine, the beautiful Madeline McGinn, if she wanted to model for me and started trying to figure out how she would get here in the morning. Just to be sure we wouldn’t run into any issues, I had her stay over on Friday night. I definitely wanted to make sure that I had at least a bouquet, so I immediately called one of my favorite flower shops in the area, Nectar, to see if they might be able to put something together for me last minute. I explained what I was going for and they delivered, as always!
The VanLandingham Estate is right in Plaza Midwood, where I live, and I knew it would make the most amazing backdrop for photos in the snow. I think I was up about 10 times that night checking outside to see if we had enough snow. Haha. We got up early that morning to capture the quiet and calm of the lamp lights without any of the snow being disturbed. Most of the morning it was very lightly snowing, but just at the end of our shoot it began to snow and we were able to get a few photos with falling snow! It was so much fun and so perfect, and Madeline was such a trooper for hanging out in 20 degree weather in a wedding gown!

How beautiful!
Beautiful!!
Beautiful photos!! And her dress is amazing! I also love how you caught the snowflakes.
These photos and that dress are stunning!!
I seriously love so many things about this shoot. First, she looks so much like Jennifer Aniston! She’s beautiful. I also really enjoy the time of day these were taken. Almost too dark, but still light enough to get all the beautiful detail of the dress and the snow. It’s just very calming to look at. What a pretty dress as well!
Oh this is stunning!!! I love it!!
