For a while now, I have been contemplating getting an office to showcase my work and meet clients. I had originally thought I would just finish the basement of our house and create an office with its own entrance, but then I came across the Loray Mill. If you haven’t heard of it, it is an absolutely beautifully restored mill in Gastonia, NC that is home to apartments, a world-class gym, office and retail spaces, and a stunning venue. The first time I toured the venue, I saw the office spaces and wondered how much the rent might be considering how far out from Charlotte it was. To my surprise, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! A gorgeous office space with perfect natural light, within my price range, AND right down the hallway from an amazing venue. It was perfect.
Once I decided that I wanted to make the leap and move Katherine Elena Photography headquarters to Gastonia, I knew that I wanted to plan a wedding styled shoot to be able to showcase my work from the venue. I immediately contacted Heidi at Heidi Crowder Wed to help coordinate, and we recruited some of our absolute favorite vendors to join us. We decided on a color palette of copper, blush and merlot which perfectly embodied the industrial yet romantic vibe we were aiming for. The dress was an absolute STUNNER; a brand new, beaded-bodice dress by Theia from Ladies of Lineage in Dilworth. It had never even been worn yet! The invitation suite was hand painted on ethereal, hand-torn cotton paper by Kristin Dills of Honeycomb Design as well as hand-written by an upcoming local calligrapher, Nikki Holland. The ring is an authentic Victorian Era engagement ring with a cushion cut sapphire and a halo of diamonds from Trumpet and Horn. It is quite literally one of a kind! I could just go on and on about all the lovely details, but I’d love for you to check them out for yourself.
