I have been so excited about Meghan and Steven’s Loray Mill wedding for so many reasons. For one, I had recently rented a space in this building for my new office, so I couldn’t wait to get in there a shoot a real wedding. I was also really excited to work with my husband and his food truck for the first time! Even though I only got to see him briefly, it was more than I would have otherwise. Haha. Lastly, Meghan and Steven are such a special couple. Kellie and I just love them and know that they will stay our friends long after the wedding.
If you follow along on our Instagram, you may remember me mentioning that I would share Meghan and Steven’s extraordinary story on the blog. I challenge anyone to read this and not get the chills! If there was ever two people that were meant to be together, it is these two. A few years ago, Meghan and Steven were enjoying a day in Winston-Salem and came back to their room for a little relaxation and a movie. Meghan reached for a water bottle but missed the bottle completely and stumbled. She was able to comprehend that her balance was off, but didn’t think anything more of it. However, when Steven came into the room and saw the left side of her face had fallen, he immediately knew that something was wrong and called 911. It turns out that due to a heart defect, Meghan was having a stroke. She was rushed to the hospital where the doctors were able to help her make a full recovery. If it were not for Steve’s quick thinking, Meghan may not have even been able to have a wedding. If you’d like to read more about their story, you can do so here.
Their wedding day was filled with so much emotion and gratitude. It was an honor to capture the love that they have for each other as well as the love that everyone has for them. Congratulations to some of the best people I’ve gotten to know over the years of being a wedding photographer! We love you and hope you enjoy and long and happy life together.
